Studying MBA in the University of Western Australia
The University of Western Australia 's Graduate School of Management has worked on its MBA curriculum for at least 30 years so you can be assured that you will be getting the best that the university can give. After their years of research they have come up with 3 different types of Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs:
MBA – Comprises of stage 1 and 2
MBA (Advanced) – Comprises of all 3 stages and is a 16 unit program.
MBA (International) – As in depth as the MBA(Advanced) with a total of 16 units (All 3 stages) but with an international focus.
FACT: For the MBA (International) degree program, there will be 2 units taken overseas within the GSM's International study options.
Stage 1 of the University of Western Australia 's MBA program consists of compulsory core units such as Accounting and Marketing Principles. Stage 2 is known as capstone units or electives. You can select from a wide range of electives including Leading and Facilitating Teams, Negotiation Behavior and Business Management. If you are taking the MBA (Advanced) or MBA (International) program, you'll also have to do stage 3 which will consist of the regular type of specializations such as Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Finance and so on. If you're in the MBA (International) program there will also be offshore and exchange programs at approved overseas institutions.
As with most other MBA programs, you will need to have an approved bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years relevant working experience in order to meet the entry requirements of the MBA program from the University of Western Australia.
Student Life
The University of Western Australia has also set up a Student Services center that focuses on your welfare and well being. You can go there for career guidance, counseling and even medical problems. For the fun stuff, look for the UWA student guild. The guild is the center of activity for clubs, societies, bands and more!
UWA also boasts of one of the Western Australia 's biggest library with over a million volumes! Known as the Reid library it's got everything you could possibly need in a university library. I mustn't forget to mention their computer laboratories that are in and around the campus for you to use whether its for research, work, or something as simple as checking your email.

The University of Western Australia prides itself as one of the leading universities in Australia . Definitely the best by far in Western Australia , this university's MBA program is sound. What stands out however is its MBA (International) program that has a chance to give you just that little more to help you stand out and do better in your career. Regarding facilities and student activities, I feel that what they have pretty standard and nothing to really shout about.
