Only 3 of JCU's campuses offer MBA programs and they are Townsville, Cairns and Singapore . This is great because cost of living in Townsville, Cairns and Singapore are considerably lower than studying in Sydney or Melbourne.
Their main campus is in Townsville and is only 2 hours away from the Great Barrier Reef with a beautiful natural bush and parkland setting. You won't be bored there because the nearby Townsville Strand is filled with recreational facilities, restaurants, bars and more. The beachfront also provides great opportunities for beach activities like swimming, surfing, picnics, barbeques and so much more!
JCU's Cairn campus is even closer to the Great Barrier Reef and the campus is surrounded by Rainforest Mountains . It is a truly breath taking backdrop. The campus is 8 years old and is located near the northern Cairns beaches. If you can handle studying and working part time you might like living at Cairns . Because it's such a touristy town, there are always part time jobs to be found.
FACT: Relatively new, JCU Singapore was set up in 2003 and is focused on producing the same kind of quality education that their Australian counterparts are famous for. It is not just a representative of JCU, JCU Singapore actually brings the direct from the parent campus meaning that you will be assured of he real thing even if you're not in Australia .
Studying MBA in James Cook University
James Cook University offers 2 different types of Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program. First they have a general MBA. This course will cover all major aspects of business administration and it consists of 7 core subjects and 5 postgraduate electives. Their second MBA program is MBA with Specialization.
This course will of course train you in all the essential skills of General Management, but with extra focus on an industry of your choice. If you choose to specialize, you will also have 7 core subjects, 1 elective and 4 more subjects from the specialization of your choice.
Currently, the JCU is also offering a special kind of exchange program that will allow you to experience different cultures and lifestyles. One semester lasts for 6 months and you will be required to complete 3 semesters for your MBA program. Because of this, JCU has come up with a system that will allow you to study at all 3 of their campuses (Townsville, Cairn and Singapore ) for 6 months each . Meaning that you will not only be able to finish within one and a half years, but you will also experience studying in all 3 campuses.
FACT: Not all specializations are available at all campuses so you will have to do a bit more research on what you want to do in relation to where you want to go.
To qualify for a MBA program at James Cook University , all you need is a bachelor's degree (your discipline does not matter) and preferably (not compulsory) several years of work and management experience.

If you have your own computer or laptop you can basically work wherever you like because their library has CD-ROMS you can borrow and various electronic materials that you can download. But if you don't have the hardware, you don't have to worry either! They don't just0 have a library packed with books that you can borrow; all campuses will have general purpose PCs laboratories available to you! Some of them are even open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
JCU encourages students to carry out their own planning and activities and that's why they have the JCU Student Association. It's basically a group consisting of people or friends that you've elected. They'll be in charge of leading the various sporting and leisure groups. So don't worry, there will be lots to do during your free time!

James Cook University's special ‘exchange program' is definitely something to look out for because you'd be able to experience living in 3 completely different areas and feel the difference in environment and lifestyle of each campus.
